ACGME International (ACGME-I) is proud to announce that for the first time, two graduate medical education residency programs at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) in Irbid, Jordan – neurology and pathology – have achieved Initial Accreditation. The accreditation status for the two programs became effective 1 July 2023.

“This accomplishment would not have happened without dedication and commitment to quality graduate medical education on the part of faculty and staff members, and residents,” said ACGME-I Executive Director Lorraine Lewis, EdD. “We at ACGME-I are honored to work with JUST in providing excellence in medical education in Jordan.”

Founded in 1986, JUST became the first Sponsoring Institution in Jordan to achieve ACGME-I accreditation in 2021.

“We are incredibly proud to have the first two ACGME-I-accredited programs in Jordan," said JUST President Khalid El-Salem, MD, FAAN, MHPE. “This achievement underscores our relentless dedication to advancing medical education in Jordan and ensuring that our graduates are equipped to deliver exceptional patient care.”

As of July 2023, ACGME-I accredits 188 residency and fellowship programs and 22 Sponsoring Institutions in 12 countries.
