To better prepare Sponsoring Institutions and programs for the full implementation of Milestones 2.0, staff members from the ACGME Milestones team and ACGME International (ACGME-I) have embarked on a series of in-person workshops that will involve every accredited Sponsoring Institution.

The first of these in-person workshops was held in Miami in July with the team from Hôpital Universitaire de Mirebalais (HUM) in Haiti. This opportunity to work together with Milestones 2.0 specialists allowed the HUM team to gain detailed knowledge on how to implement and use the new Milestones, including program-specific considerations.

This workshop was held following the earlier announcement that the first GME programs at HUM achieved ACGME-I accreditation. “Their work to improve the health of the citizens of Haiti in this challenging time is inspirational,” said ACGME-I Executive Director Lorraine Lewis, EdD.

This is the first of a series of in-person workshops for Milestones 2.0, which all ACGME-I-accredited programs are required to use beginning January 2024. Learn more about the Milestones here. Future dates and locations will be made available directly to the Sponsoring Institutions and included in the ACGME-I's monthly e-Communication newsletter.
