ACGME-I is proud to announce the approval of Program Requirements for four new subspecialties: developmental-behavioral pediatrics; pediatric hospital medicine; reproductive endocrinology and infertility; and sports medicine.
Developmental/behavioral pediatrics and pediatric hospital medicine are subspecialties of pediatrics, and reproductive endocrinology and infertility is a subspecialty of obstetrics and gynecology. Sports medicine is a multidisciplinary subspecialty of emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, and physical medicine and rehabilitation.
The new subspecialties were formally approved by the ACGME-I Board of Directors in early September following the recommendations from the Review Committees-International July meeting.
