Saudi Arabia’s King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre Achieves ACGME-I Accreditation

ACGME International (ACGME-I) is proud to announce that King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH&RC), based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has achieved ACGME-I accreditation as a Sponsoring Institution, making it the 24th ACGME-I-accredited Sponsoring Institution, and the third in Saudi Arabia.

Established in 1975, KFSH&RC has become one of the premier institutions for graduate medical education (GME) in the region. Already boasting a formidable network of global partners, KFSH&RC continues to grow its international aspirations.

“King Faisal Specialist Hospital is one of the most renowned institutions for GME in the region, and we are honored that such a recognized center of GME excellence chose to seek ACGME-I accreditation – which they have achieved,” said ACGME-I President and Chief Executive Officer James A. Arrighi, MD. “This demonstrates the value of what ACGME-I accreditation brings to institutions of all sizes, and we look forward to working with our new partner to improve GME in Saudi Arabia and around the world.”

KFSH&RC’s Initial Accreditation as a Sponsoring Institution became effective 1 July 2024, at the start of the 2024-2025 academic year.
