New Subspecialty Programs Approved

At the September meeting of the ACGME-I Board of Directors, Program Requirements were approved for two new accredited subspecialties: pediatric otolaryngology and interventional cardiology.

In addition, minor revisions to the ACGME International Foundational Program Requirements for residency programs were approved, including requirements for program directors, as well as requirements clarifying the faculty-resident ratio and removing the minimum number of residents – both at the institutional level. The new subspecialty Program Requirements and the revised Foundational Program Requirements for residency programs are effective immediately.

Review the Internal Medicine page on the website for updated application forms for the next academic year (2025-2026), which are different from the existing applications that will be phased out after the 2024-2025 academic year.
